More Chinese Lighting Products Recalled
Does it Comply?
The product recall below is for a Chinese High Bay that according to their website claims to meet Australian Standards is SAA approved and C-Tick certified. I think the defects speak for themselves. When are we going to have some action from the government and industry associations to better police electrical consumer goods in Australia?

Identifying features
The 240W High Bay LED Luminaire under recall can identified by the Model Number: FK-GK240.
This can be found on the Label Sticker on the top of the LED Luminaire.
What are the defects?
The luminaire has a flexible supply cord that may be tied in a knot and used as an anchorage. The terminal block on the secondary driver may be prone to charring. In addition, the accessible metal fins on the LED luminaire may not be earthed.
What are the hazards?
Risk of electric shock and potential fire hazard

8 年Steve Just thinking would be nice if we knew just how much the cost each was..to compare if higher costs is actually equal to Quality ior not in n this case....

8 年Phil, as anyone in the industry knows you get what you pay for. If products have approvals then they are always going to cost more.
