A sculpture of Pablo Picasso’s lifeless body drew the crowds at Madrid’s contemporary art fair last week.?

Aquí Murió Picasso?(Picasso Died Here) is the work of Spanish artist EUGENIO MERINO.?It’s not based on Picasso’s actual corpse, but draws inspiration from the memories many have of the artist – dressed in a blue-striped Breton shirt, white linen pants and espadrilles.??

Picasso was also only 5 feet 4 inches tall, whereas the sculpture is just over 6 feet long - literally larger than life!

FREUD AUCTION

A painting by LUCIAN FREUD, that has been out of public view for more than two decades, is expected to fetch up to ￡20 million at Sotheby’s in London tomorrow (Wednesday, 1st?March).

The 1997 painting, called?Ib Reading, depicts one of the artist’s daughters reading MARCEL PROUST’s ‘In Search Of Lost Time’.?Isobel Boyt posed for the painting during 70 sittings at her father’s studio in West London.?
