The Morality of Timidity???

Is it the Beginning of the End??

Stampede at a railway station recently.. painfully cut short many lives.. WHO is accountable?? Wasn’t it just waiting to happen.. haven’t the public at large ‘so addicted to social media’ been viewing chaotic & violent behaviour at railway stations of late.. criminal vandalising of trains, trespassing into engines & toilets & reserved compartments, lakhs of them attempting to enter one single train.. who is to take accountability.. lackadaisical administration with limited resources and no skills to handle mammoth mobs or the maniac mob mindset itself?

Same happened at the Kumbh as well.. in both cases the mob chose to conveniently ignore ample warnings blaring in their deaf ears and opt for their brute behavior instead.. cries for the same painful query as above... who is to be accountable...for surely the almighty never sought unpardonable crass mob behaviour in return for cleansing of the external sins and continuance of fresh incremental accumulation after the balance sheet was tallied.

Two planes full of people who attempted to enter a powerful country illegally were deported back to India.. their crime? Selling off all their holdings plus taking huge loans worth crores and trying to enter a foreign land illegally.. in search of the elusive proverbial land of opportunity & back home, the urban elite, the intelligentsia, & the bourgeois are crying hoarse on their fate and vociferous demands are being made to reimburse the poor hapless criminal deportees their failed investment and repatriation of these 'innocent' people who seemingly had no clue about the illegality of their vain attempt…

LinkedIn is full of stories of hiring biases and ghosted interviews.. and being in HR myself for over two decades, insider stories abound where “pre-chosen” candidates were shortlisted from a charade of interviewing process and accommodated to suit the requisitioning leader’s palate.. when such a chain of conducive inflow is ensured, who is to be accountable for diminishing quality of performance & potential that eventually is decomposing the organisational possibilities? As and when bias & favouritism triumphs, the mute organisations suffer... but then, who is to really bother?

Reservationist policies have ensured that the dimwits can outrace the most deservingly brilliant to most of the professional seats and as a result we live in times where we are witnessing unprecedented lethal medical negligences, disastrous architectural, structural & engineering catastrophes, and abysmally lowest standards of return against opportunities, innovations, creativity, & quality of life in general..?

A swarm of social locusts masquerading as influencers and comedy gods are hammering in the last few left nails in terms of trivialisation of thousands of years of our rich cultural heritage, mocking the sanctity of sacred consciousness and demonising divinity & derogatorily dismissing the very foundations that made it possible for this mighty civilisation to thrive since times immemorial.. and, yet a large section of our youth capital.. deranged with distractions are lapping it up unabashedly.. with scant realisation of the impending rot of the roots of our civilisation that hitherto outlasted the ravages of time as well as foreign plunderers and invader extravagances only to be possibly annihilated now by suicidal denizens within..

Aren’t the intelligentsia & responsible masses.. left out if any, able to comprehend that these terminal symptoms are screaming attention towards the malady that will devour sanity, possibilities, survival, & society at large?? Is this the proverbial apocalyptic era when every single societal institution is being destroyed from within so visibly and with such unabated freedom… since there isn’t anyone questioning or complaining or noticing or even acknowledging the irreversible destruction glaring at us at the end of the tunnel…?

The manifestations of these now subconscious level corrosions are altering the physio-psychological consciousness of the society at large and rendering its denizens as zombies with scant concern about the consequences and erosion of the tensile strength of the steel structure that binds together this society that is just racing towards crumbling down into the anonymity of time.. Without sounding too pessimistic, I for sure want to violently ring the townbells and scream out the downhill ride the earthlings have taken.. since the issues mentioned above are only the tip of the gigantic iceberg of symptomatic malaises plaguing & threatening the existence of society as it should have been...?

These are the times that Ayn Rands, Krishnas, Buddhas, Nietzsches & Oshos of life screamed caution about.. Alas.. who is concerned?

Disaster and disappointment and devastation have become routine affairs.. human value is at its lowest and practiced humanity is on the brink of extinction.. will anyone puhlease summon the messiahs who had promised to come back or at least those master technicians who created this earth software & seemingly deserted it, to return and take charge???

Dogmas have time and again said that the meek & timid shall inherit the earth.. I say.. To what end.. Aren’t The Meek & the Timid the real culprits who are destroying the very fabric of the society that is shielding them, in return fostering parasites that are feeding on its own ecosystem. Meekness against elements that can harm teams, tribes, organisations, cultures, societies and threaten their future potential is willful?acquiescence?with the perpetrators and that makes the meek 'partners in crime' & not potential inheritors

Nietzsche famously wrote in his Good & Evil:?

"There is a point in the history of society when it becomes so pathologically soft and tender that among other things it sides even with those who harm it, criminals, and does this quite seriously and honestly. Punishing somehow seems unfair to it, and it is certain that imagining “punishment” and “being supposed to punish” hurts it, arouses fear in it. “Is it not enough to render him undangerous? Why still punish? Punishing itself is terrible.”?

With this question, herd morality, the morality of timidity, draws its ultimate consequence. As?we grow increasingly detached from the toughness against any aspect that harms the society or its inhabitants, that was once our shield, we begin to lose our ability to distinguish between danger and safety. It is ironic that a morality focused on avoiding danger ultimately results in an inability to recognize it when it appears, and a reluctance to take the necessary actions to confront it.
