MORALITY! - A DISCERNIBLE MORAL CODE COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE!

It is possible to live a life that to observers seems to resemble a ship trying to find its way to safe harbours but with no compass or any kind of means to ensure this. Like a reed in a murky pond, swaying at will, as the breeze blows, many lives are simply just living as if by no moral code at all. Is this advisable at all? Is it possible that even when seeing the red lights while driving, a person with good eyesight can proceed wantonly as if trying to start a war with another vehicle? Failures in judgement can be catastrophic in any sphere. My opinion is that we make mistakes and that is part of the human condition and perhaps we can be intentional in following paths astray but mostly real failures in morality are predictable mostly! When we fail to articulate the values we hold dear, we will at the moment of temptation be unable to say NO. If you have determined in your mind that fidelity is a value you prize, are you likely to become known as the woman who changes her boyfriends every week or even has two or more partners? We cannot in a society that places credence on freedom dictate our moral codes to anyone yet we must sometimes ask the question, if a particular action leads to a specific eventuality that is unpleasant, can that action be deemed responsible or prescribed? I consider myself an open-minded person willing to engage with people across the diversity of humanity but am sometimes perplexed at scenarios that seem to me like people failing to heed warning signs and knowingly engaging in risky behaviour! Risk is risk by any other name and carries with it a possibility of an ending that may be akin to being stung by a bee, not good! A clear moral code leads to a life less likely to result in brushes with the law, police, irate neighbours, jails, angry spurned lovers, diseases and all other scenarios that threaten your peace and dignity. A small lapse in judgement can lead to consequences that are lifelong and may be irreversible. MORALITY MATTERS!
