IS THERE A MORAL TO YOUR STORY?

Collaborative Filmmaker: I am a Cinematographer ?? Director ?? Screenwriter??
We all have a story to tell, yes to some degree I actually mean a written story whether it be a book, movie, short story, song, poem or what have you.? Many of us have at least one story inside of us that we feel a need to get out into the world.? But what of our personal story? How does our personal story relate to the story we want to tell?? I know for me it is a reflection of my norms, curiosities and morals. Of course for any of us, these elements can change over time, life events can change the course of so many ideas and creative avenues but also morals and our internal compass.
When you consider that a certain idea, if it’s an invention or a yarn, it spawned from somewhere or nowhere, a place or thought that didn’t exist prior to that moment in time.? I assume many folks send these new thoughts and ideas through an ever-evolving filtering system. The filters that tell us if it’s a good idea or a terrible one, ideas that may seem disturbing or enlightening and again depending upon where we are in life, time and space, we either throw this new idea away or embrace it like a new teddy bear. ?
Hemingway suggested “In order to write about life first you must live it.”? This has been a mantra of mine for some time, having had my fair share of ups and downs. Basically that I have experienced a life that is relatable. These experiences have shaped not only my desire to write and invent, but a place to extract my writing and inventions from. If we apply this same theory to our life in general, we may soon realize that we are in fact writing a life’s story of our own. Jim Morrison vocalized “Did you have a good world when you died? -enough to base a movie on??”
At some point or another many of us hunker down and get into the Race of Recognition, others stand zombielike in the wings shaken by the idea of stepping into the fray and yet others are content to stay in the bleachers championing or sadly, criticizing those riding the tide.?
I must admit I just made up the term "Race of Recognition", I just googled it and came up empty, so perhaps, I have just coined a new term. Let’s dig into this a little deeper:

Recognition is defined as: Acknowledgment of something's existence, validity, or legality. ?
I kid you not I am diving into this as I write, not that I haven’t pondered making my mark before my time is due, but more seriously when is your mark to be made? When you’re very young, you may fashion yourself to be the next wunderkind. If that doesn’t happen and the drive is still alive, in your thirties, you may dream that you are an emerging talent. By forty, if you are still driven, you can see yourself as the 20 year overnight success. By your fifties and onward, your story may be that of tenacity and inspiration.?
Let’s face it, Tenacity and Inspiration is where I am at. It’s not fame and fortune, although don’t get me wrong, I wish for fortune daily, my parents didn’t raise a fool. It certainly isn’t fame, we are all aware of the pitfalls of such fleeting accolades, especially today, where more are celebrated because they just exist. Where I am getting at with this, is the journey self realization, that feeling of accomplishment when we do something new and awesome, a culmination of talent and wherewithal we have acquired over time, something to be remembered by, something that aligns with our norms, curiosities and morals.? You could say that this is what we call legacy and you’d probably be right.?
For this is what I do and pursue, dream and aspire and you should too!?
