Moonlight Rose...??

Chapter 9

Standing outside on the porch... watching the rising sun... a peaceful feeling touching my soul... then a touch from her hand... and with that sweet little giggle... she stole my heart...

??????????????~~~~??~~~~

I said I love you... she giggled... then replied... I know... but as she looked up... watery eyed... she said... I love you too...

We turned to each other... in a whole new light... just standing there... looking deeply... into each other’s eyes... a feeling of calmness... is the best way to describe... when love has been found...

Ms Sue was just pulling out... tooting her horn as she left... the sun was much higher in the trees... and we were alone again...

Taking me by the hand... she lead me back inside... and on the nightstand... a rose... the one she held so close to her heart... just a few nights ago...

Picking it up... with tears in her eyes... she turned to me saying... my prayers have been answered... I couldn’t help but hold her close... because my prayers... were answered too...

About that time... a nice breeze came… blowing through the doors... her curls lightly lifted... a smile... and a giggle... how sweet the moment... a blessing from the heavens...

We began to sway... as if music was playing... but it was the tune of our hearts... humming a beautiful song... we just danced... nothing to say... a feeling that can’t be described...

A short while later... taking her by the hand... we headed out back... stopping briefly on the steps... then realizing… we had no transportation... she smiled... guess she thought it was funny...

The sun… a little higher in the sky... it was a beautiful clear day... and with that cute little giggle... which told me she was up to something... then she said… let’s go...

Pulling in the direction of that old barn... we could hear the horses running next door... so out by the fence... we found a spot in the tall grass... setting down... just to watch...

It was somewhat shaded... but the sun was peeking through the leaves... making her curls shimmer in the light... caught up in the moment... we fell back... lying in the tall grass... each blade swaying in the breeze.... both of us enchanted by the beautiful blue skies above...

She turned her head... finding me starring back... those beautiful eyes just melt my heart... so I leaned in for a kiss... I think hers melted too...

About that time... we heard a snort... she giggled... one of the horses… was standing at the fence... watching us... we quickly sat up... both of us smiling... it was a cute little gift to see... I guess it was curious... then it turned and trotted off...

We sat there for a moment... she leaned back in my arms... we felt like kids falling in love... for the very first time...

We got up a few minutes later... heading back toward the house... she said we should take another walk... I smiled... saying let’s go...

That canopy of trees... looks a lot different in the light of day... it’s like a kaleidoscope... with a gentle breeze... the sunlight flickering through all the leaves...?

A little ways down... a gravel road headed east... pulling her gently... we began a new adventure... she was curious... I could tell... she hadn’t been this way before...

The corn was high... on both sides of the road... the breeze making the tassels dance... and the sun was shining bright...

Just up the road… on the left… was an old tobacco barn... it was held up with stilts... as it was leaning slightly... the years had taken its toll... and not far behind the barn... sits a little lake... most people don’t know about it... she hadn’t seen it before... so we headed up a little path… headed toward that barn…

It was a beautiful and serine place... as we walked through the woods... the twigs and leaves crackling... with each and every step...

We paused for a moment... it was so quite... listening to the birds... then a quail took flight... she noticed in the distance… the sound of water... ripples rolling against the shore... she smiled... grabbing my hand... saying come on...

As we got to the edge of the forest... she was amazed to see the lake... reflections of the sunlight... made it look like stars had fallen in the water... the waves twinkling... so gracefully in the breeze...

Off to the side... was a big ole stone... we sat there for a while... just to enjoy the quietness...

But then she noticed a path… running beside the lake... asking where does it go... so I took her hand... saying let’s find out...

Hand in hand...

????we leisurely stroll...

????????our story gets better...
