Monthly Top AI Content Highlights – December 2023

Dear friends,

I hope all is going well for you as we approach Christmas and the end of 2023.

For the second edition of the Intelligences 333 newsletter, I've selected a mix of videos, podcasts, and articles that provide a range of immediate and long-term perspectives on the present and future of Artificial Intelligence.

While I continue to manage my original LinkedIn “ Intelligences ” newsletter , now embraced by nearly 42,000 friends, where I share personal insights and perspectives on AI, this new newsletter - here - is intended to offer curated recommendations on the latest and most engaging content related to AI.

It monthly features 3 videos, 3 podcasts, and 3 articles, all exploring the transformative suite of technologies commonly referred to as “AI.”

Since its recent launch, this new LinkedIn newsletter has already reached almost 19,000 subscribers in a few weeks. I hope you find it useful, and if so, please don't hesitate to reach out with any feedback or ideas. Also, feel free to share it with anyone who might be interested.

Below is my monthly selection:

Mustafa Suleyman & Yuval Noah Harari -FULL DEBATE- What does the AI revolution mean for our future? An exceptional debate between Mustafa Suleyman and Yuval Noah Harari delves into the implications of the AI revolution for our future. Among the most enlightening and insightful discussions on AI I've witnessed in recent months.

Elon Musk & UK Prime Minister Discuss AI’s Global Risk. “AI will be a force for good most likely, but the probability of it going bad is not zero percent.” One of the most interesting conversations held at UK’s AI safety Bletchley Park summit, at least from my point of view.

The Exciting, Perilous Journey Toward AGI Just weeks before the management shakeup at OpenAI rocked Silicon Valley and made international news, the company's cofounder and chief scientist Ilya Sutskever explored the transformative potential of artificial general intelligence (AGI).

Artificial Intelligence and You: What effect will #AI, especially large language models like #ChatGPT, have on jobs? Intense and fractious conversation, which sheds some light on AI effects, and discuss some of the different predictions and proposals for distributing the dividend from reducing costs and increasing markets through deploying AI.

The Cognitive Revolution: Imbue CTO Josh Albrecht on Creating AI Agents for Reasoning, Reliability, and Robustness This podcast is somewhat more technical than the ones mentioned above. In this episode, Nathan discusses with Josh Albrecht, the CTO of Imbue, about creating agents for reasoning, reliability, and robustness. Highly interesting!

P.S. For those interested in my original 'Intelligences' newsletter on LinkedIn, here are three articles on 'How to Become an AI-Powered Organization'.

How to become an AI-powered organization: a holistic view If you think that hiring data scientists or deploying machine learning algorithms makes your organization an AI-driven company, you may be completely wrong. Indeed, you may be anything but AI-driven.

AI-Driven Processes: Becoming an AI-Powered Organization Artificial intelligence may be considered the new electricity, as it will fundamentally change all industrial sectors and our entire society at large. Also, AI is a general-purpose technology, exactly like electricity, as it is meant to be used to create other technologies. You do not use electricity itself (at least not intentionally); you use it to create other technologies. The same also applies to AI.

Is your company ready to be Artificial-Intelligence driven? Technology can make you fragile. We as humans are adaptable, continuously learning from our experiences (or, at least, this should be the case), always keen to perceive the world around us with our senses, able to improvise and change our behaviors, as needed. On the contrary, traditional information technology (i.e., IT before AI) is fixed, repetitive and programmed in detail, which ultimately means it’s fragile.

Please “Join the conversation” on LinkedIn by following the link below. Share this newsletter, comment on it, and feel free to add any videos, podcasts, or articles you recommend for exploring the fascinating world of new, human, and artificial intelligences. Thank you sincerely for your engagement.
