Bringing restorative justice to addressing the divisive language
The 4th RJ4All Annual International Conference?
"In an era where hate speech and misinformation are on the rise, our 4th Annual International Conference in Cyprus represents a critical step towards fostering peace and understanding worldwide. By leveraging restorative justice principles, we aim to create spaces for dialogue and healing, particularly in communities affected by long-standing conflicts. This significant conference also marks the one-year anniversary of RJ4All Europe. It has been an incredible year as we’ve worked to extend the values of restorative justice beyond the UK. ??Towards an Inclusive Workplace: RJ4All Staff Enhance Their Active Bystander Skills
In September, RJ4All staff and volunteers took part in the Active Bystander training to learn how to address prejudice, harassment, and identity-based violence in their communities and workplaces.?
This interactive course, led by Protection Approaches, was organised in response to recent disturbances and incidents across the UK. The training also explored the root causes of discrimination and how to help build safer, more inclusive communities.
"I honestly think this should be training that everybody should do as this is as vital for life as it is for the workplace" - Shared a participant
????♀? Upholding Dignity Through Food Services
At RJ4All, we recognise that access to nutritious food is essential not just for sustenance but as a cornerstone of dignity and well-being. Our food services are designed to uphold this principle.
Recently, team members Adeline and Becca participated in Food Dignity training, where they learned how to ensure dignity through key principles. Creating a welcoming environment allows everyone to feel valued, while transparency in food sourcing fosters trust. Our person-centred approach tailors services to individual needs, acknowledging unique experiences. Finally, by empowering individuals to make choices about their food, we promote autonomy and self-respect.
By integrating these principles, we enhance the dignity of those we serve and address food insecurity in our communities.
4th Steering Group Meeting: Advancing the Restorative Justice Postcode Initiative
In early September, we held the 4th Steering Group meeting for the Restorative Justice Postcode Project. The key focus of the discussion was advancing a Memorandum of Understanding to unite local stakeholders around the project’s values and goals, fostering a collaborative approach to its success. The Steering Group plays a vital role in turning our vision of building the world's first restorative justice postcode into reality. It provides not only strategic support and guidance but also meticulous documentation of RJ4All work in the community.
??RJ4All's Health Inequalities Event: A Step towards an Inclusive Community??
In collaboration with Latin Hub, we recently hosted a Health Inequalities event at our community centre, bringing together a range of health professionals to provide tailored support for residents and service users from ethnic minority backgrounds. Through this initiative, we aim to promote social cohesion, enhance well-being, and improve health outcomes for individuals of all abilities, fostering a stronger, healthier community.

It also examines the link between self-control, equanimity, and thriving in emerging adults, as well as pandemic-related re-entry anxiety in youth.
