Welcome to the December 2024 edition of ICC’s newsletter — our final issue of the year!

As we wrap up 2024, we’re thrilled to bring you the latest updates, insights, and highlights from our members and business community.

This edition celebrates the milestones we’ve achieved together, recaps the year’s most significant moments, and offers valuable tips and resources to help you start 2025 on a strong note. Thank you for being a part of our journey this year — let’s finish 2024 with inspiration and anticipation for what’s to come!

2024: A Year in Review

As we look back on 2024, we’re proud of the milestones and moments that have shaped our year at the Inverclyde Chamber of Commerce.

January: Welcoming New Talent


We kicked off the year by welcoming Jenna, our new Marketing and Events Executive, to the team. Her contribution has played an important role in enhancing our events and member engagement throughout the year.


February: Leap Year Celebration


In February, we hosted a social event to mark the Leap Year, providing an opportunity for members to connect and network in a relaxed setting.


March: Launching "Come and Connect" Events


We launched our Come and Connect events in March. These have enabled us to put a spotlight on our members. Our first event at the Beacon Arts Centre was a success, followed by additional events at Ingliston Estate & Country Club, Downriver Coffee Roasters and Blessed Wellness Studio.


April: Supporting Grant Funding Applications


In April, we celebrated the launch of The Wyllieum and hosted a Grant Funding Information Session with Business Gateway and Inverclyde Council, helping members navigate the process of securing grant funding for their businesses.


May: Launching the 2024 ICON Awards


We launched the 2024 ICON Awards in May, recognising outstanding achievements in innovation, leadership, and business excellence.


June: New Team Member and AGM


Corey joined the ICC team as our Business Development and Membership Executive in June, bringing fresh energy and new ideas to our efforts. Yesterday marked his 6-month anniversary with us!

We also held our Annual General Meeting, where we reflected on our progress and discussed the exciting plans we have for the future.


July: Meeting with Local Decision-Makers


In July, we met with local decision-makers and charities to discuss issues facing our community and explore opportunities for collaboration.


August: Celebrating Collaboration


We partnered with Scottish Women in Business in August to host a joint event, fostering collaboration and networking among local professionals.


September: ICON Awards

The 20th ICON Business Awards in September recognised 11 deserving winners who demonstrated leadership, innovation, and excellence in their respective industries. Thank you to all of our sponsors who made this night possible.


October: World Mental Health Day


In October, we hosted a breakfast event for World Mental Health Day, encouraging discussions on mental health in the workplace and the importance of supporting staff wellbeing.


November: Scottish Chambers Annual Business Address


We attended the Scottish Chambers Annual Business Address in November, gaining valuable insights into Scotland's economic outlook and networking with leaders across the business community.


December: Christmas Charity Event

We’re closing out the year with our annual Christmas Party which will be in support of Ardgowan Hospice. It’s a wonderful chance to celebrate the season with our members and raise funds for this invaluable local charity.

Maximising Your Membership in 2025: 6 Key Tips for Success

These are excellent opportunities to meet other members, exchange ideas, and build relationships that could benefit your business.

Join discussions, share resources, and interact with fellow members through our social media platforms. Engaging online will keep you informed about the latest industry trends, as well as opportunities and events.

If you’re looking to raise your profile, consider hosting or sponsoring an event. This is a great way to showcase your business and connect with potential clients or collaborators.

5.)Get Involved in the ICON Awards

The ICON Awards offer an excellent platform for recognising the hard work of members and their businesses. Whether you’re nominating a peer or aiming for an award yourself, participating is a great way to celebrate success and build recognition.

One of the most valuable aspects of your membership is the ability to connect with other members. If you’re looking to expand your network or find potential collaborators, reach out to us for member-to-member introductions.

As we close out 2024, we’d like to thank all of our members, event hosts, guest speakers, and sponsors for their support throughout the year. With your help, we welcomed 43 new members, strengthening our business community and creating new opportunities. Your contributions have been key to this year’s success.
