The Monthly Messenger: April 2023
We’ve got global communications’ number — so we’re sharing important updates and discussions with you, plus some insights into what the netnumber Global Data Services team has going on.
In case you needed a reminder of just how fast time passes: Q1 2023 has officially come to a close. That means it’s time to gather up all the news, trends and announcements from March — and it was definitely a busy month. Of course, April already plans to be jam-packed, too (here’s a hint: we’re getting back on a plane). So, without further ado, let’s get into the high points of this past month.
-??????Your friends from the netnumber Global Data Services team.
Innovative, Interesting or Irrelevant?
Let’s talk about the big-ticket items and up-and-coming topics in the world of global communications. Think of this like a ‘hot or not’ for the telecommunications fanatics out there.
Feel free to use the comments to weigh in and share your thoughts on these trends and their impacts:
Is it time to talk about the drawbacks of AI?: We’ve all heard #chatgpt ’s praises being sung left and right across the world of business — and there’s certainly a lot of promise and potential here when it comes to AI-assisted productivity. However, it seems like there may be another side to this coin that isn’t so rosy. Some (like Forbes) are saying that #AI will have huge implications on the battle against phishing, making it harder to overcome and safeguard against. So, when we think about AI, is it time to start thinking about the possible negative repercussions?
Actually, let’s turn this into a head-to-head on AI as a whole — because other sources are saying that AI might be a great weapon against fraud in verticals like e-commerce. Where dedicated employees once kept track of fraud attempts, algorithms and intelligent applications seem to be able to successfully flag concerning behaviors.
So, what do you think? How can we cultivate the benefits of AI without letting its powers be used to power the damaging practices we’re hoping to avoid? Where does ‘good’ AI begin and end?

March was busy for our team as we attended the Mobile Ecosystem Forum leadership forum and meet-up in Miami (shout out to our CEO, Steve Legge , who also gave the welcome address!). We also finished off the month in sunny Orlando at Enterprise Connect 2023 — but if you’re interested in catching our team in April, here’s where to look:
We’ll be making a splash in Dublin with MEF on April 18 and 19 (plus, our Senior Director of Product Management, Catalin Badea , will be featured on a panel that will have mission-critical insights into enterprise communications). More on that here.

A Monthly Meet-the-Team
Last month was Women’s History Month (plus International Women’s Day on March 8), so it’s only right that we feature one of netnumber Global Data Services’ leading ladies in this monthly team introduction.
So, we’re pleased to introduce Barb Cochrane, our VP of Contracts. A core member of our team since 2017, she’s a force for ensuring we’re always meeting our customers’ goals and business requirements with the utmost service excellence. She’s a master architect of information libraries, tools, processes and teams — which makes her an indispensable part of our team.
Here’s a fun fact: She hails from Ottawa, Ontario. It’s the 7th coldest capital city in the world, so feel free to send her some warm thoughts.
Your Final Food for Thought
