Monthly LinkedIn Newsletter
Well, this is an exciting concept, a newsletter directly inside LinkedIn. I was offered access to this feature, and I think it's a great idea. I regularly post code snippets, updates on LinkedIn, and I use this as an informal way to reach some of my followers.
I will try this because it fits pretty nicely with my new product SwiftlyRush, which I hope to have ready by the end of 2021.
So What's This All About?
I plan on having this as a very informative newsletter that will share my knowledge on the past four weeks; it might be code snippets, updates from the industry or relating to my day to day job at Stream.
It won't be strictly formally written, but more about my brain thoughts, and I hope you might find it helpful. I also spend much time organising my conference SwiftLeeds, so I hope to drop information about progress and what I am getting up to.
Job Update
I am currently working for Stream, a company founded in Amsterdam but now spans across the globe with offices also in Boulder, Colorado. Our mission is simple but challenging; to build the best-in-class chat API for our clients.
It's going great so far, and there are many technological challenges to building a real-time chat API, even more so when you're running it open-source and have many client needs.
My role is very much in the IC category, so I am enjoying looking at the bigger picture and start scoping out technical changes that will help both developers on the team and the product.

SwiftLeeds
Building a conference during the height of a global pandemic was undoubtedly challenging, but we did it, and what a success it was; we had such great feedback on the survey we sent out with so much scope for improvement for next time.
As I have always mentioned, the plan now is to make it an actual community conference, and we had 14 people come forward to get involved. So I have started having conversations, and it's been so special hearing why others want to be involved.
I can't wait to take this conference to the next level
It's a Wrap
Did you see the announcement recently from Apple?
Usually, Apple will close down the App Store over the festive period, but not this year. It's hard to understand why they have decided to do this, but I see this as a natural positive step forward to allowing developers to publish apps no matter what time of the year, day or timezone.
I have worked at many companies. Most of them always struggle to understand how the iOS platform works with the App Store; having the company perform App Reviews and even gate the process is always strange for many to understand. However, I think positive changes like this help us have a less restricted process that enables faster cycles to customers.
