FDA Proposes to Exempt Certain Cottage Cheese from FSMA 204 Traceability Requirements
The FDA has proposed exempting certain cottage cheese products from traceability requirements under the FSMA 204 Food Traceability Rule, citing their regulation under the Grade “A” Pasteurized Milk Ordinance as providing sufficient safety measures. This proposed exemption would apply to all Grade “A” cottage cheese on the Interstate Milk Shippers List, and public comments will be accepted until September 12, 2024.
