A month of LinkedIn activity

A month of LinkedIn activity

Every Saturday, I post an article about whatever pops up in my mind. Sometimes fun -always personal.

This week, I got a request from one of my followers. He asked me to share my statistics with the world. As it has been one month of active posting, it's a good time to crunch some numbers.

Important note: I share this, not out of vanity but out of proof that you can do this too!

But first, why am I doing this?

I started actively posting on LinkedIn because I got inspired by a dear friend Nick Broekema . With a few other friends, we're in this app group where we inspire each other to become better versions of ourselves. In this group, we talked about the importance of consistency and discipline. Simpler said than done...

Nick was about to start a new business and was the first to begin with a consistent and well-thought-of content strategy. Within a month, he was already on another level. Getting a global reach and inspiring thousands of people with his magnificent posts (Check 'm out here). He showed me that there was truth in our hypothesis -and that magic things could happen if I could just set my mind to it.

'Consistency and Discipline' with those two words in my mind, inspired by Atomic Habits, and a little bit of expert advice from Nick, I got to work.

For me, it started as an experiment to see what would happen when I stayed consistent and disciplined for a more extended period of time.

Finding your own style

As an experienced marketeer, my subject was evident. But my niche? Marketing is broad. To keep this up, I knew I had to choose subjects close to my heart. I decided to go with cool marketing facts that taught me how the world spins. Facts that showed how powerful marketing is but easy to understand.

My first post

A bit insecure about my very first post, I shared this with the world:

I know, my design skills are a bit barbaric but the post seemed to get the message across. The post reached 3142 people and had a many reactions from strangers around the world. Their enthusiasm and kind words motivated me to push through and really get to work.

Lesson learnt: Be positive and kind! You can really change someones course with a kind remark.

Within 6 hours, I had 10 subjects lined up for the days to come.

Fast forward: The result of my first active month

So here's what happens when you push through for the first month. 77,878 impressions in one month. I know, for many this isn't much but for me it really is! I never expected that out of my first month.

Another thing that happened; My profile views went up -A LOT! It doubled.

And because of that...

I got my first LinkedIn lead!

And it didn't stop there...

and more... In total, I got 14 requests to help with marketing.

Not bad for a first month!

About what topic do you want me to write next week?
