Month-end Blues? and how to avoid that.
If you are in Sales then month-end is a mostly a roller coaster ride at times you scrape through and many times there is slippage and the reasons are many.
There are so many reasons for the shortfall that come up that you can write a book on it :) while no one is interested to hear the reasons for the shortfall however genuine :) and rightly so :)
Sometimes the reasons are within our control and at times beyond our control.
Irrespective of temporary setbacks a commitment is a commitment and here are 7 ways people can mitigate the risk and have a successful month-end.
1) The initial target has to be realistic with a strong rationale and broken down person wise and date wise. There has to be a cushion and factor for a surprise element. Have an ambitious goal & give your best, do not be conservative. Failure is not a crime low aim is.
2) Regular review on a daily basis is required of how the situation is emerging and what changes are expected on the expected end result and then take actions considering the changed scenario t mitigate the risks on an immediate basis.
3) Anticipate a problem or a bottleneck well in advance and do not wait for last-minute to take corrective action, there is a well known saying that a " stitch in time saves nine"
4) Do not try to do everything all by yourself, try to seek help and delegate, TEAM work helps a lot, as they say, TEAM stands for,
T-Together E- Everybody A- Achieves M-More
5) If there is a potentially difficult situation at any point be upfront, do not hide that so that new opportunities can be found to mitigate that risk, it's always better to be upfront and courageous so you can take better decisions to counter the temporary setback.
6) Give your 100% with passion till the last minute, without losing hope, you never know what can come out even at the last minute. As the lord, Shri Krishna says in the Bhagwad Gita- " You have only control over your actions and not the results", so give your best and not worry over what comes through, you are assured of divine support. That has been my experience.
7) One month is not an end to your life, learn from the mistakes and become better and over time small improvements can lead to great results.
These seven things can help you gain control over the situation and make you more and more successful over time

4 年I am agreed on most of points mentioned above. I think regular review of cases and frequency should incase towards month end and judge cases which can concluded and cases which can be closed if extraordinary efforts can be made. Don't give up hope is key and have patience with stake holders is very important.
