BIG ADVICE
A MONTH OF CONTENT IN… ONE HOUR?
People prefer to be ahead of the game - but rarely achieve it. That’s because we often get paralysed by the thought of having to complete a large amount of work upfront. One post every few days, sounds easier than twelve posts at once, doesn’t it? The problem is, when we work like this, we delay the labour rather than finding a smart solution to the original problem:
How can I post great content, every week, without it taking up too much time?
I want to set you a challenge for August - prepare a month of content in advance. Now, before you tell me you can’t do it, I’ve done some of the prep work for you. In this month's Link Tank newsletter , I covered how to produce a month of content in just one hour. ?
I covered:
·?????? Putting your content in ‘buckets’ to make it easier to start writing
·?????? Scheduling tools that you can ‘set and forget’
·?????? A full month plan of content ideas
BIG QUESTION
?
HOW CAN I GROW MY ENGAGEMENT?
Here are five tips to increase your engagement and make LinkedIn work for you:
1 | Post native videos
There’s evidence that suggests posting video content can boost your engagement by as much as 200%. The trick here is to keep things simple. Select a post of yours that has done well, and recreate it as a talking-to-camera style video.

2 | Engage with thought leaders?
Follow those in your industry who have a high profile
3 | Polls are back
But did they ever really go away? Selecting topics that divide opinion without being divisive allows conversation to flourish in the comments as well.
4 | Engage more freely
Comment on others’ posts - be a useful member of their community. However, this does come with a caveat. Please look for opportunities to add value or insight.?
5 | Ask thought provoking questions Try open ended questions, like ‘What is the number one thing you attribute your success to this year?’ to encourage interesting responses.?
BIG IDEA
