Accelerating the transition to a circular construction industry

A circular economy keeps materials, products and services in circulation for as long as possible. It is key to reducing carbon in response to the climate emergency and in reducing the ecological footprint of material use, bringing financial value for our clients through material efficiencies in construction, delivering future-ready buildings and infrastructure.

Decarbonising our own operations

We know that our operational activities have an impact and have taken action to decarbonise our operations at a global scale. This is about measuring and working to reduce all aspects of Buro Happold business operations that add carbon dioxide and associated emissions to the atmosphere.

We do this by focusing on energy use in buildings, movement of people and goods, the waste we generate and the services we provide to our clients.

Read more about the actions we take to decarbonise our operations , across Scopes 1, 2 and 3.

Biodiversity

Protecting and enhancing our natural environment is critical in delivering sustainable solutions for a greener, more resilient future. Ecosystems contribute to physical, psychological and planetary health.

The report demonstrates our biodiversity related goals and our aim to embed biodiversity into all project planning processes.

We will provide an increased focus on connecting biodiversity with other sustainability topics — Buro Happold Sustainability Report 2022.
