The IDB, which holds the chair of the MDBs Heads Group, was proud to host leaders of 10 banks – and to announce joint action in five key areas, including scaling up financing, catalyzing the private sector, and sharpening focus on effectiveness and impact.?
A Better Life for the Residents of ‘Little Japan’?
Aldo Lima Santos is one of 9,000 people who call Jap?ozinho, or “Little Japan,” home. This neighborhood on the eastern coast of Brazil was long known for its high crime rate, open sewers and catastrophic flooding. But today, for Santos and his fellow residents, those associations are a thing of the past.?
A modern fiscal management program has led to improved public services and infrastructure in this and 51 other municipalities across the country.
