Monmouth County Charity: Dermer Dreams

Do you know a high school student who lives in New Jersey and is looking to earn community service hours?

Dermer Dreams?is an amazing charity based out of Fair Haven, NJ that has raised 373,705 pounds of food for people who are hungry.?

Students sign up as a Neighborhood Captain and?Dermer?Dreams?provides them with 100?donation bags?and?flyers?so they can?distribute?them?to anyone?they want in their community.?It is the captain’s job to run their own food drive and collect as much food as possible.??The Neighborhood Captains collect their bags on the same day with a parent or guardian and deliver the food to?the?Dermer?Dreams drop-site.?After the student delivers the food, they are given a certificate for 10 hours of community service.?In the end, the student gets their?community service?hours and?Dermer?Dreams feeds the people who are hungry.

If you live in New Jersey and can deliver to their drop site in Fair Haven, NJ on October 29th, you can?sign up?on their website as a Neighborhood Captain.?If you live in a different area of New Jersey and are interested to bring the program to your school, please write to them at?[email protected].?They will provide you with the information on the?Dermer?Dreams Leadership program where you can sign up as a Leader and recruit 20 students from your high school to become members of your team and run their own food drive.
