Monitoring Railway Pillar Stability in Berlin
The image corresponds with my view from the terrace where I am currently writing this article. This week I am in Berlin training German engineers and constructors to work with our software including the 3D-dynamic models in StabiFrame.
Due to construction around and below this passage we are monitoring the central pillar for subsidence. The span, which consists out of the pillar, the span itself and the housing block, is one huge concrete monolith. Therefore tolerances of movement are extremely marginal. StabiAlert was elected to supervise this object due to the accuracy, speed and robustness.
