Moni Talks on the Move
They say that moving house is one of the most stressful events we can experience. Well, Moni Talks has just moved and, while it was hard work and a bit of upheaval, I’d say it was more excitement than anxiety!
After time we have very much enjoyed in our old office, we’ve had to move to new accommodation. We’re still in Douglas, the capital of the Isle of Man, our home, but we now have more space.
Importantly, the layout and facilities reflect the needs of our hard-working team which will help make being in the office a better experience for them all.
Finding a new office had become a priority as we need to accommodate a growing, dynamic team, and ensure the right mix of collaborative space and quiet working areas.
Each member of the Moni Talks team is tasked with demanding roles and I wanted to ensure we had listened to everyone and provided what they need to continue exceeding our expectations in delivery.
We now have that. The new Moni Talks office is the ideal base to launch the next phase of our platforms journey and roll out the developments we’ve been preparing and testing behind the scenes for several months.
The first few months of 2023 are going to be busy and exciting for Moni Talks and it is all going to happen from here, our new headquarters.
The move has also given us more space to expand our team. We’re currently recruiting for a number of roles, so if you’re interested in joining our journey, please get in touch.
Amid the excitement of the relocation, it is important to acknowledge the disruption it caused. Moving out networks and devices across Douglas took a little time, interrupting the workflow of some team members.
With the working day at Moni Talks steadily increasing into the early hours and late night, there’s really no perfect time to make a move like this. I’d like to personally thank everyone for their patience and support during the move.
Founder and Chairman Brendan Beeken FInstSMM took the reigns during the move, with the support of several Isle of Man business. For helping to make the move as effortless and seamless as possible, I’d like to thank RMD Electrical, IOM Handyman, Loadrunner, Elite Group IT , The Cleaning Method, ALMAC Interior Solutions Limited , and Bridson & Horrox Ltd .
Talking Cryptocurrency Regulation
By Moni Talks Founder and Chairman Brendan Beeken FInstSMM
As those of you who follow me on social media might already know, next week I am addressing a conference on regulation and compliance in cryptocurrency.
Cryptoassets Regulation and Compliance 2022, organised by Infoline Conferences and to be held in Knightsbridge, London, has, of course, been planned for many months. However, the timing for this event could not be better.
Since the inception of Moni Talks, I have spoken forcefully and frankly about my belief in the need for great regulation and corporate governance transparency in crypto. Reasonable, considered, collaborative regulation, which is strictly observed and enforced, is the best way of growing trust in cryptocurrency.
Assuring people that there are standards, and penalties for failing to meet them, will attract new investors, both individuals and corporations. This will bring more money into cryptocurrency, increase its adoption and acceptance, and position decentralised finance as a genuine alternative to the ‘old ways’, rather than a virtual ‘wild west’ populated by scammers, hackers, and snake oil salesmen.
The need for commitment to workable regulation and cryptocurrency has intensified in the past few weeks. The collapse of FTX, the second largest crypto exchange, sent shockwaves through the industry. The failure of such a large name ensured the news even made the mainstream media. The revelations which have followed, during the Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, has been, frankly, sickening.

Allegations about the way the business was run, how it operated, and how it was governed – or not – have struck the heart of cryptocurrency credibility for many. The ripples from the #ftxcrash, termed ‘contagion’, are still spreading through the worlds of #blockchain, #crypto, #nfts, #gamefi, #dao, and #web3 projects.
Investors have lost trust, and money, and those outside the crypto space are even less likely to want to get involved now. Widescale cryptocurrency adoption has been set back at least 18 to 24 months, I predict, if it recovers at all.
What must happen now is that those of us within the business must speak up, loudly, about our support for enforceable regulation which protects consumers, investors, and staff. That is what I will be doing next week at #Cryptoassets22.
I will be part of the panel discussing Shaping Future Regulation to Increase Transparency, Access, and Protection. Joining me will be Shelley Grayson , Chief Compliance Officer at CEX.IO , James Delaney , Asset Management Regulation Director at AIMA - The Alternative Investment Management Association , and Alex Pollak , Head of UK and Israel at 21.co .
If you’d like to attend the conference on December 8 and hear the latest on crypto regulation and compliance in the wake of the FTX collapse, with a 20% discount, you can book your ticket now.
