Moneybox behind the scenes
Our annual Christmas party is a great opportunity to look back and celebrate the team’s achievements over the past year. Although we’re still working remotely, we were keen to carry on tradition and take our Christmas celebrations virtual. Like all of our events, our Christmas party was organised by our Culture Committee, made up of team members from across Moneybox. Together with our office manager, they worked hard to coordinate lots of moving parts and pull off a great celebration to wrap up an eventful year!
Each of our monthly meetings begins with a showing of our new starter video - a compilation of short clips from our newest teammates. This gives our new starters an opportunity to introduce themselves to the wider team and share a little about who they are while we’re unable to meet in person, and has resulted in lots of creative and memorable introductions!
After our usual recap of the previous month at Moneybox, we looked back at our 2020 journey before premiering a collaborative cover of Jingle Bell Rock.
Christmas hampers were sent out and Deliveroo credit provided so the team had plenty to snack on throughout the festivities.
Up next were our quarterly ALOT shoutouts, which spotlight members of the team who have exemplified one (or more!) of our four key values - Action, Learning, Open mindedness, and Team. After several months away from the office, we also wanted to celebrate the quirks of working from home with the MoneyboXmasAwards. There were voted for by the team with categories covering some all too familiar sights in 2020 - the teammate always accidentally on mute, late to their meetings even when working from home, or with the most ‘interesting’ lockdown haircut.
To finish off, we took part in one of three activities - a virtual quiz, wreath making workshop, or cocktail masterclass, with kits delivered to homes ahead of time. Check out some of our creations here:
The whole event was certainly a different way of doing things compared to previous years but thanks to the wonders of modern technology, we were able to share this experience, have some laughs and enjoy ourselves.
We hope you all stay safe and have an enjoyable festive season!
