The money side of Architecture Research.

So, what's been happening this week?

A few nice things! As we are getting closer to Disrupt Symposium my team and I work round the clock to create the best learning experience, ever!

This week I had to draft a full event script. Oh yes! From the host's perspective- word for word and minute for a minute what is going to happen. How I see it be delivered. Because, you might not think of it- but we will have over 12 people working on the delivery of this amazing live virtual broadcast! Oh yes! Lights! Camera! Action!

We will be streaming to you LIVE from a professional film studio out of Warsaw, Poland!

Anyways, what is fascinating is that as I spent the last few days writing up 5-full days of a script, I kind of lived every single second of it, in my head!

And I tell you what- it was amazing!

We were all there, together, as a community, smiling, and sharing.

I had to shorten all speaker's bios so everyone gets the same amount of time for their introductions and see myself present them all on stage.

We had fun sharing experiences, a lot of amazing learning and super powerful conversations via chat! Participants were saying how transformative this experience had been for them and their businesses!

It was unforgettable...

Ok... enough of me dreaming out this day!

I hope you see how immersed I am in this!

On another note...

Tomorrow we will be hosting our next Roundtable discussion on the topic of "The money side of Architecture Research".

So this is a really interesting topic for me because it really asks us to rethink our role as architects.

Because, what are we really? Well, we are service providers- mostly hired to draw up plans, sections, elevations, do a 3D model and sometimes overlook construction.

Hm... yeah- but what about all that expertise, the knowledge, the soul, the vision, the talent?

Where does that come from?

Who we actually are, and what makes us unique?

It comes from research, from exploring what interests us.

OMA proves the importance of research by the presence of AMO.

Fosters, Ghery, and many other Architects created research foundations.

And what makes them different is that they all follow the stream of passion and interest originated by the founder.

Right.

So let's talk about the direct business that can come from this...
