Money, money, money

Money, money, money

What has COVID 19 ever done for your charity?

The pandemic has put an incredible strain on 99% of charities. On a daily basis charities are going to the wall or furloughing staff. Predictions for fundraising income by Third Sector magazine suggest a dramatic drop of 48%. And still no formal help from the government as yet.

What are you doing to survive?

I have seen great examples of rapid and creative adjustment to service delivery.

We have seen an explosion of offers of short-term volunteering for the NHS.

Is there an opportunity for your charity to reach out to skilled and talented people on furlough to develop a virtual community fundraising event?   I was talking to a client who has offered just that to a small local charity who feels she has been ignored. How can you keep your organisation open to left field ideas while dealing with the operational crises?

Is there a section in your website that encourages people to use their talents during the pandemic to raise funds for you?  Or other digital platforms to harness to time and skills currently available.

I saw photos of a couple out for their daily walk dressed as Micky and Minnie Mouse. With some encouragement and coordination, a fancy dress walk event could be your thing.

And whatever you try could become the new normal.

Stay safe
