Money Matters in Latent Print Processing
A superior method for processing currency, thermal paper, and items sensitive to heat. PDMAC is here! PDMAC may be used on any porous item needing latent development. May be especially useful on colorful backgrounds since there is high fluorescence when viewed with ALS. Success varies due to the wide range of thermal paper types but most evidence will be developed within 24 hours. This has also been useful in developing prints on currency and other difficult to process papers due to the cold compression transfer technique. Packaged ready to use.
Instructions
1. Insert evidence item(s) between the two PDMAC charged sheets so contact is made between all the item surface area.
2. Reseal the charged papers and evidence to the Ziploc package and compress. A heavy book or manual is sufficient.
3. Development time can vary, 15-30 minutes for fresh prints, normal is 2-4 hours. Some results have been obtained after 12 hours.
4. Remove and view with ALS 475nm-495nm and an orange barrier filter to utilize the high fluorescence of developed prints. A yellow staining may be visible upon the thermal paper subsequent to processing.
5. Photograph developed latents with ALS and orange filter.
6. Reseal charged paper. Exposure will shorten product life.
I hope that this method can help take your processing skills to the next level.
