The Easter weekend is upon us. The religiously inclined will be busy in churches and some are fasting. Some will travel out of town to watch rally cars race down rough roads, quaff alcohol and make merry. It is funny how there is always some sporting extravaganza around Easter. The Tannahill Tournament for Golfers and the Safari Rally for motorheads come readily to mind . Come Tuesday it will be back to work and time to deal with failing dentitions for general and specialist dentists.

Some dental problems are genetic, environmental or caused by other factors. Crowded teeth and mal-aligned jaws are one such kind of dental problem. There are 79 and counting Invisalign providers in Nairobi which has a population of 1M at night and 6M in daylight. This is a small country, as countries in other parts of the world go. Considering that Invisalign starts at USD 5000 a pop, this means there is indeed a demand for this brand of clear aligners. Patients come for this service from home and abroad. This is good for the dental industry if we can demonstrate that we have what it takes, in terms of orthodontic treatment capability.

April and Quarter 2, 2024 is nearly upon us. What worked for you and your clinic in Q1, 2024 despite the many changes in the business, financial and logistics environment? What needs to be enhanced for your people, processes and profit ?What didn't work? What or who do you need to lose? How will your clinic demonstrate that it has what it takes to deliver in Q2 2024? Communicate that message in all the spaces that your target market is to be found, online and offline. Let them say "you are looking good" from afar and make them feel good when they are in your clinic. It is all about the customer experience in dentistry. Never forget your internal customers - namely your staff. Let them feel good, often. Praise them individually when they do the right thing, demonstrating your values and embodying your mission and vision.
