Money isn’t everything…HMM

Money isn’t everything…HMM

Money isn’t everything.

Whoever said this kindly transfer all your money to my bank.

Would you dare say this to the family who was unable to get out of Afghanistan because he didn’t have money to fly his family to a safe country?

Say this to the families from third-world countries like Somalia who are starving for basic food, while you are rollicking in exotic delicacies only to impress people they don’t know and are not sure they like them either.

No, No, I am not trying to money shame anyone.

It's not a crime to have money.

?But it is not a good practice not to value what you have. ?

I have often seen and heard people who attend lavish parties and in an attempt to belittle the host make crude comments like they have so much money to throw at their daughter's wedding, who knows the wedding would even last.

?Instead, they could have donated the money to some poor person at least they would have eaten a decent meal for a few days. ?

This thought is not bad at all. However, if this thought is meant to belittle someone its not good.

If a person has money why will he not fulfil his daughter's desire to have a wedding of her choice if he can afford to?

?

Coming back to the statement Money Ain’t everything. Definitely, money ain’t everything.

But it solves a lot of issues like a good house a good vehicle good education a good life in general.

After all, everyone works hard,to have a good life what is wrong in that?

Why would anyone have the right to belittle anyone in that regard.

I remember once I tried selling a product to someone it s was Rs.99/- worth of bag.

The person said can I have a discount I said sure pay me Rs. 94/- he said no I wont pay you a rupee more than Rs. 80/- I smiled and said its fine sir you probably don’t want this bag I will not force you either.

This person turned around and said I definitely want the bag but I am sure you make this bag for less than Rs.20/- and you are hiking it to by 5 times to make a profit.

Now I was a bit put off. Long ago before I started working my dad told me just one thing,” this world is a cruel place never answer a rude and cruel question ?with rudeness or cruelty always reply in a cordial manner.

I told the person sir as you mentioned you may be right I don’t know for sure what is the making cost of this product.

But sir this product was made at some place and shipped to another place via a distribution channel to the store this was where I got my hands on this product and let's not forget I am putting in my effort to sell you this product, I have devoted close to 30 minutes of my life which I will never get back to make a 20 Rupees profit which I am not even sure you will buy or no. I am sure my life is worth at least that much. Isn’t it?

That man immediately bought a pack of 12 bags from me.

Trust me my dear friend it's not just about money it's also about the effort you put in to earn that money.

Once I overheard a conversation about a renowned doctor visiting a Temple. ?

The entire temple was blocked for a few hours to ensure this VIP had gone into the temple for darshan and left the premises safely before letting the other devotees in.

?I agree the devotees have been waiting outside in the sun. I agree this is a case of discrimination between rich and poor.

But think about it. That renowned doctor has worked day in and out tirelessly saving lives.

?Giving up his family life and happiness to save lives. In the bargain fight with the families of patients lives whom he could not save.

They live among pain and agony all day. Don't you think they have the right to earn after having gone through so much hell.

Don’t you think their time is valuable because while he is waiting in the queue for darshan multiple patients would have lost their lives?

The flip side of it is who gave that doctor this power to stall so many devotees out there in the crowd its purely money because for his his time is money which he could save by shelling some out to the temple trust to ensure he gets a good darshan to bless his and energise him so he can go out there and save more lives.

This is just one example I am quoting there are tons of such examples.

Instead of complaining why not use this as a lesson to upgrade your life?

Instead of envying the rich why not become rich?

Nothing is impossible in this world. ?

Money may not be everything but it definitely gives you the power to live the life which you desire.

Money may not give you happiness, but it fulfills all your desires which money can buy.

Money can even deny you love. It can snatch friends from you as well.

Ask me how?

There was this friend of mine Anikesh. Anikesh once came ot my office and asked" I need Rs.20,000/- urgently my mother has undergone surgery and I need money for her physiotherapy. I will return this money in two months."

It's been 5 years since he borrowed the money. Even I did not bother to ask him the same. During COVID-19, I called Anikesh and asked him about the money he said sure I will return it tomorrow.

It's been another 5 years since Covid.

It took me 5 years to understand that Tomorrow never comes.

So now I neither have my money nor a friend. My first lesson learned in life is If you lend some money to your friend do not expect him/her to return it if you do then you will lose both your friend as well as your money.

Later I had one more friend who asked me for money same Rs. 20,000/- this time I had the money. I smiled and said "Reema I love you a lot but I don't have the money," But I can definately help you earn this money. My assistant is going out of town and I need a replacement just for a month. I pay her 15k but for you I wll pay you 20K only if you are willing to work with me. She left immediately.

It's not like I don't value friendship at all. But any relationship based on my capacity to fund them during their bad times and turn away their faces during mine would not have lasted anyway. I might as well keep my hard-earned money least I don't have to beg for my own money when the grass isn't green on my side.
