Money Down the Drain

As most parents would admit, having children is not a “good financial decision.”  Every decision cannot be money based or money driven.  Nevertheless, there are those days when our money quite literally goes down the drain … as happened to me recently.

From down the hall, I heard my daughter crying hysterically.  I ran to see what tragedy awaited and learned that her bottom retainer ($450 – I know because it was replaced not more than two months ago) had slipped out of her fingers and literally down the drain!  Oh, the money to be “wasted” to replace the otherwise perfect and working retainer.
