Money
Once I was running down a state highway in a little town in West Texas where I was born and I started finding $10 bills along the roadside! The more I ran the more money I found. Tens became twenties became fifties and eventually I was finding $100 bills! Really! No lie! By the time I got home, I had picked up over $6,000 in cash and checks.
I knew it wasn’t mine… but it could have been! I turned it into the police dept-both officers were there…and I thought that was the end of it.
The next day the news media from El Paso called and wanted to interview me. Apparently, a man had come to claim his money and all of a sudden it was news. Turns out this money was this guy’s life savings.
In a way, I puzzled over why all of that was newsworthy? To me, it was something that was never mine, to him it was everything.
Have you ever lost something and thought you had no hope of getting it back? Maybe eventually you got it back but maybe not? But that’s only true of stuff-not life. You can get your life back. Oh, it may look different, but you can get it back. You’ll never know that Hope is all you need until Hope is all you’ve got. We’ll look for it together…
