This means that your fans can now show their appreciation for your content by sending you virtual gifts in the form of themed icons. Users purchase these gifts with a virtual currency called Stars which can range from just 10 stars to several hundred stars.


Gone are the days when your only source of income from Instagram was through advertising. With ‘Gifts’, you now have another revenue stream that can bring in some extra cash. However, Instagram does take a cut of the revenue earned from them, so be prepared to share the wealth.
