In this edition, we're digging into some of the unique Return on Investment (ROI) channels associated with B2B podcasting – acknowledging that the desired outcomes go beyond monetary gains.
8 Podcasting ROI Channels
1. Platform Payment ??
This is the most common form of monetisation that most people know about, Platforms like YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts offer ad revenue sharing. This allows podcasters to generate income without securing sponsorships independently.
2. Product or service sales ??
Use your podcast to promote and sell your own products or services. This could include consulting services, online courses, books, or other digital products. Do this through a call to action (CTA) in your podcast like you normally would for a regular advertisement.
3. Connections and Relationships ??
B2B podcasts serve as strategic vehicles within the sales funnel, offering a targeted approach that goes beyond the B2C mass appeal. Each podcast episode is a deliberate effort to create deep and enduring relationships. Personalized engagements are paramount, making podcasts as a way for authentic conversations with industry leaders.
4. Establishing Thought Leadership ??
By consistently delivering high-quality, insightful content that addresses industry trends, challenges, and innovations, you can attract a loyal audience and gain recognition as an authority in your field. This recognition can open doors to revenue-generating opportunities outside of regular product/service sales, eg, speaking engagements, consulting contracts, book deals, etc.
4. Lead Generation ??
You can use your podcast to generate leads for your business by offering free resources or consultations to listeners who sign up through a landing page or opt-in form.

5. Brand establishment ???
Through the delivery of consistent and insightful content, along with the cultivation of meaningful connections, B2B podcasts play a pivotal role in fortifying a brand's identity within the industry. The establishment of a strong brand not only fosters trust and credibility but also positions itself as a valuable asset.
6. Sponsorships ??
Partner with relevant businesses or brands that want to reach your target audience. They can sponsor episodes or series of your podcast in exchange for promotion and mentions during the episodes.
7. Premium content ??
Offer premium or exclusive content to your listeners for a subscription fee. This could include access to bonus episodes, extended interviews, or behind-the-scenes content. Do this through YouTube's member program or through Patreon.
8. Merchandise sales ??
I'm not saying to start a whole clothing brand ?? But you can easily create and sell branded merchandise such as t-shirts, mugs, or stickers featuring your podcast logo or catchphrases. Platforms that offer Print on Demand can be very useful for this.
So does a podcast bring in revenue?
Answer: Yes, but not always as quickly as one might anticipate.
So, while the financial gains may not be instantaneous, the long-term benefits of a fortified brand and strategic connections pave the way for sustained success in B2B.

9 个月Honestly, I have been thinking about this for a long time.. for three years, however the more i push the idea of monetisation of my podcast, the more i lose my authentic audience ... Every podcaster is on a self discovery journey – I'm at the point now where I separated this thought process from my podcast which has one goal: Just to give as much as possible to connect as much as possible to add as much value as possible. I love podcasting so much that i'm afraid that if i put money first, it will ruin my process (once again) So my takeaway: I use the podcast as an outlet tool for: creativity first connections second then monetisation comes last.
