Mondia experience Dubai Expo 2020 and attend an exclusive visit to the 'House of Wisdom'

Mondia shareholders recently visited Dubai Expo 2020 as part of a special diplomatic entourage. The private meeting, hosted by His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan - Member of the Cabinet?and Minister of Tolerance of the United Arab Emirates, Liz Mohn - Bertelsmann owner and Mondia shareholders - Dr Amadeo Rahmann, Mondia Group CEO and Simon Rahmann, Mondia Pay CEO paid a visit to the impressive expo grounds to experience its “Connecting Minds” theme.

The visit also included participation in an Independence Day celebration for the African country, Guinea-Bissau with an address by President Umaro Sissoco Embalo and HH Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan. With Mondia’s business roots in Europe, the delegation especially enjoyed the tour to the German Pavilion, where the best-in-class German innovation was exhibited with a specific focus on environmental and sustainability solutions.

The Expo visit was concluded with a trip to the UAE pavilion, a true showcase of the UAE’s vision and the endless opportunities that present itself. The Mondia delegation acknowledged their shared objectives with the nation’s aspirations of growth and prosperity.?

A significant highlight from the engagements held over the past few weeks was a private meeting between the Mondia delegation and?Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, CEO of the children's book publisher Kalimat and President of the Publishers' Association of the United Arab Emirates and the International Publishers Association.?

The meeting was held at the “House of Wisdom”– a place?that redefines?the concept of a library?into a venue?where people meet, converse and share ideas.?This newly opened culture hub in Sharjah?has more than 100,000 digital and printed books, numerous reading and event rooms, a digital laboratory, and a large Children's and youth area. Liz Mohn and Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi shared insights around their common interest in publishing and their passion for reading.?
