Monday's Quote
Eleanor Roosevelt was not only a First Lady of the United States, but she was an early pioneer of women taking on leadership roles. Mrs. Roosevelt suffered many tragedies throughout her life but did not sink into bitterness, instead she made a career for herself. So much more than the wife of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Eleanor Roosevelt marked firsts in so many ways. She was the first president’s wife to take an activist role and present her causes directly to the people through her own press conferences, syndicated columns and radio broadcasts. She took a leading role in addressing the needs of women, children, laborers and minority groups, never shying away from unpopular positions. She got out of the White House and connected directly with Americans. After the death of her husband, she expanded her reach around the world as a U.N. delegate and champion of human rights, nicknamed “First Lady of the World” by President Harry S. Truman.
Each of us have experiences that test us. Currently we are in an unprecedented situation as a society, and many may be tested by illness and loss. Disruption in our daily lives, uncertainty as to when we restore normalcy, and coping with a new invisible threat may test us daily. Yet, we are a strong and resilient people and we will attack this problem and solve it.
Stay strong, stay positive, be a role model for your family and friends, and know that it adds to our mettle and fortitude, and prepares us for life’s many battles. Let’s channel some of Eleanor Roosevelt’s strength, fortitude and courage!

1 年Kimberlee Davis yes thanks! And I'll add stepping into uncertainty because it's necessary to reach a goal. That too builds strength and confidence. Overcoming resistance and fear is key to building confidence...as is looking and feeling great in your clothes!
