SWOT Analysis in Valmiki Ramayan
Enthusiasm ever even at distress, Courage to act as required, Goodness in whatever you do, Compassionate leadership, Being grateful in life, Commitment to whatever we do, Being best in the chosen field out of choice are the seven leadership traits demonstrated by Lord Ram as a role model. We can follow the footsteps of Lord Ram by practicing these leadership traits.
Courage isn't about being fearless. It's about surfing Life's waves despite your fear.
Let us go back to Yudh Kand. When everyone in Ravan’s court eulogized Ravan’s valour promising him big victory in the impending war against Ram, Vibishan raised the lone dissent voice. Vibishan gave pertinent advice cautioning Ravan about Lord Ram’s strengths and the wrongdoings of Ravan. Ravan did not like the uncomfortable opinion raised by Vibishan. In the course of his speech, Vibishan expressed a valuable thought
?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ? ???????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????? ??Valmiki Ramayan 6.14.22??
"A minister should advice after ascertaining the strength of the foe and his own strength so also one's own growth (in strength) and fall in strength (of foe) and advice that which is conducive to the king's welfare."
Quoting this positive thought, Vibishan advised Ravan to make peace with Ram and return Sita to Ram.
We can notice that this valuable advice from Vibishan is close to the modern SWOT Analysis.
This is well applicable when there is a strategic evaluation of opponents, teams. This is what gets done usually in the evaluation of competing teams. ?
This is a great idea from Valmiki that the competitor's strengths and weaknesses need to be evaluated in relation to your own. Not only strengths and weaknesses, growth or fall in strengths is also an important factor to consider in strategic evaluations. Apart from how strong you are and/or how strong is your competitor, whether you are in the upward movement or not in relation to your opponent is also very important.
#CompetitiveAnalysis
Competitive analysis involves identifying your direct and indirect competitors using research to reveal their strengths and weaknesses in relation to your own.
Whether you’re running a business or playing in a cricket tournament, understanding your competition is crucial for success. While you may not be scoring touchdowns in the office, your goal is to score business deals with clients or win customers with your products and services. The method of preparation for athletes and business owners is similar—once you understand your strengths and weaknesses versus your competitors’, you can level up.?
A competitive analysis report for an organization may include:
·??????? A description of your company’s target market
·??????? Details about your product or service versus the competitors’
·??????? Current and projected market share, sales, and revenues
·??????? Pricing comparison
·??????? Marketing and social media strategy analysis
·??????? Differences in customer ratings
All the above can be summed up as your strengths in relation to your competitors and the growth or fall of the strengths.
It makes sense to plot yours vis-à-vis your competitors based on two key strengths say Market Share and Customer Satisfaction.
It is story time to make it (learning) lighter. Ongoing peace talks by the USA President Donald Trump to end Russia-Ukraine War is the hot news now. I remembered an interesting ancient tamil story. ?Story of a poet whose tactful poetry avoided an impending war between two kingdoms. Poet Avvaiyar strategically evaluated the strengths of his friend’s army and that of his enemy’s. How did she manage to avoid the war? We will see in the next episode of #MondayMusings.
