Monday Muses ~the insanity of daylight saving.

There are a scant few things I truly do not like and find it difficult to tolerate.
I can find no reason to tolerate daylight saving; yet here it is once more pretending that I somehow magically have an extra hour in my day, when in truth there is still only 24 hours in any day.
I know that many others enjoy the extra hour of daylight at the end of their working day, for me it is just tedious.
Combined with a holiday long-weekend it really has messed with my scheduling.
End of rant.

Over the last months I have been going back through endless folders of research, looking for information for various projects.
In one of the folders I found an article written by David DePaolo in September 2013. David and I had spoken on Skype a few times. He was fascinated by just how easy it truly is to lift a member of the injured worker community out of the seemingly endless morass of workers compensation and back onto solid ground with a determination to grow through the challenges.
As I sit here this evening I can see the smiling image of David and the Summa Comp Laude Award. I can still hear David's first words to me "Do you have time for a conversation?" I said yes then David worked out [no doubt with assistance] how to use Skype and the world clock. He never could quite figure out that when he and I talked I was in his tomorrow and he was in my yesterday.

I calmed down enough over the days last week to respond to the letter I received.
What I found annoying with the entire letter is how little the writer of the letter actually knew regarding why I had written in the first place.
It was not me who wanted meetings and updates- it was a senior manger of an authority who had suggested fortnightly meetings as a way to keep me informed with investigations etc.
Thus I plan to keep the appointments that were set by the senior manager, not to do so would be disrespectful on my part. I have the Teams link; I will let you know if anything happens.
I expect though that nothing will happen, mainly because everything that I have been asking about simply cannot alter without either legislation or regulation and then published guidelines and a known start date.
I expect all of what is required is just sitting in the "too hard basket".

Shattered is now just weeks away from being launched , Kathie Melocco and Ballina Gee are working tirelessly to get all that needs to be in place -in place. It is amazing just what they have found and the way the storyline shows the history of neglect and abuse that the injured worker community has been weighed down by for over 100years. .

This week Marlo has been out and about doing all manner of different things in his garden as he prepares it for the summer that is ahead [Marlo loves daylight saving]
I am not sure just why Marlo sent this week's entertainment- I am sure there is a reason behind it.

1 个月I too hate daylight savings, Rosemary. Being a morning person, I can get more done for my own personal wellbeing with the early morning light. We have escaped NSW till 16/10 and watching everyone enjoy the morning light to walk and exercise is refreshing. NSW is truly still in the past with daylight savings and has no real purpose anymore.
