Monday Muses ~Bystander Effect~No Man's Land ~Old Text Messages ~Place Holder.

Strange how we can justify to ourselves that what we are seeing and what we are being asked to do and what we know is morally, ethically, legally wrong; we justify our inactions by the odd belief that it is not our place to speak up, it is not our place to inform others that we have true concerns. You know the type of concerns that have you unable to sleep at night, or the type of concern that leaves that torrid feeling in the pit of your stomach. That concern you know is there but you don't know who to speak to, nor do you want to find out where to take your concerns. It is called the Bystander Effect.

In the last many months I have been talking here about tampered medico-legal Reports I published Slightly Redacted Hansard. I even published Fraud is Fraud next I published Part One vile~degrading~humiliating and Part Two vile~degrading~humiliating.

If I had a dollar for every direct message of 'keep going" we are glad someone is speaking up" "well said" etc I truly could dine out in style. I also know that since Kathie Melocco and Ballina Gee Started sharing Shattered they have also had the same messages.

I am not complaining, I am merely pointing out that what I have been saying in public and what Kathie and Ballina have been saying in public far too many are still saying or not saying in private- The saying "there is something rotten in the state of Denmark" truly does describe the workers compensation industry.

People know that medico-legal Reports are being tampered with, people are tampering/fabricating medico-legal Reports, somehow they are convincing themselves that they are not committing fraud or doing any harm- they are just following directions from their employer.

Even the authorities when I have provided information regarding who to speak with regarding tampered medico-legal Reports dating as far back as 2001-2002 decided that that is too far back to investigate. They did not enjoy being told that there is no time limit for the investigation of fraud.

This morning I listened to a radio interview where New South Wales Police Commissioner Karen Webb answered a question; Commissioner Webb said "there is no such thing as a matter too old to be investigated"

Other people know as much with some knowing more than what I know; it really is time they got off their collective backsides and spoke up.

A short time back an member of the injured worker community asked about a most urgent concern.

Douglas requires urgent surgery to remedy a medical issue that has come about due to surgery that Douglas required as the result of a workplace injury.

However Douglas is no longer on workers compensation.

Thus Douglas is in no man's land- workers compensation say Douglas is on his own. Medicare say this is workers compensation-

Fortunately a surgeon has stepped forward, the surgery will proceed, and then the lawyers will workout who has to cover the costs.

Sometimes history has a way of popping up unexpectedly

Text messages that could not be more different from each other speak of how Craig's Table was treated by the very system that wanted everything that we did.

The first text message came from a manager within the workers compensation authority, it was sent a member of the injured worker community.

The blue text message arrived the same day that the claims agent who I have blanked out was at Craig's Table talking about how to support and expand Craig's Table.

Both text messages are roughly the same age- the authorities and the claims agents were saying all the right things, but the claims agents were saying something totally different to the injured worker community.

All of what Craig's Table had on offer can be re-instated, however I know that I would have to have an iron-clad guarantee that Craig's Table would not be subjected to all the petty peeves and internal politics.....

I truly do wonder what Marlo gets up to some weeks.

Though he has had some of his grandchildren around so mayhaps that explains his two suggestions this week.
