Monday Motivation - When is the Best Time to Plant a Tree?
Michael Hyatt asked the age-old question, “When is the best time to plant a tree?”
The answer is about eight years ago, giving the tree time to mature fully.
He then asked the question, “What’s the second best time?”
The answer? Today!
There is no doubt that we are in our current situations as a consequence of decisions made and actions taken over the past few years.
If you have a successful business, career or marriage, it’s because you “planted the tree” and now you are reaping the benefits.
But what if you haven’t made sound decisions in the past?
What if you’ve wasted a few years, innumerable opportunities and thousands of dollars?
What if you’re not happy with your current situation?
If you didn’t plant the tree a few years ago, don’t beat yourself up about it, but remember that the second best time to plant a tree is today.
You may not be totally satisfied with life at the moment, but it’s never too late to get things back on track.
So don’t dwell on your regrets, but do something today for your health, faith, relationships or finances that will reap a reward in the years ahead.
Your future you will be grateful that you did.
