?? British AI chipmaker startup Graphcore acquired by Softbank - Graphcore , founded in 2016, is a semiconductor startup headquartered in Bristol, UK. The company focuses on creating a new kind of processor, known as an ‘intelligence processing unit’ (IPU), tailored for AI and machine learning tasks. IPUs enhancing performance to meet AI's high computational demands, distinguishing it from conventional CPUs and GPUs.

Index Ventures raises $2.3 billion startup fund - Index Ventures has announced a $2.3 billion fund, that will be used to invest in startups across Europe, the US, and Israel in order to take advantage of recent breakthroughs in AI. The venture capital organisation is planning on using $800 million for investing in early-stage startups, and $1.5 billion for larger investments in later stage companies.
