Monday Morning Manna: Ssuccess and Teamwork
Shortly after the Texas Rangers won the 2023 World Series a reporter commented to Ranger Manager Bruce Bochy that Ranger players did not seem to want to talk about themselves in the post-game interviews, but rather they all wanted to talk about the team.??Bochy replied, “That’s how you win.” I’m not sure if Manager Bochy knew it or not, but he was stating a universal truth that applies to every area of life.??In fact, I can’t think of anything that is done successfully, completely alone.??You say Golf is??an individual game.??And I remind you that walking alongside the professional golfer is a professional caddie, and in the background are strength coaches and mental coaches, and club manufacturers. But, you say, the teacher/preacher stands alone and delivers his/her presentation.??True, after commentary or online research, and multiple methods of delivery designed and provided by others. A mountain climber ascends to a high peak alone.??Yes, with lots of equipment created and provided by others.??Pick your endeavor, it takes more than one to accomplish it at the winning level.??The writer of Ecclesiastes said, “Two?are?better than one, Because, they have a good reward for their labor. . . Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken. (Eccl. 4:9, 12) and the success of the New Testament church was described in Acts 5:32, “We are His witnesses to these things, and?so also?is?the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.” Thanks Coach, for reminding us that success and teamwork go together.
