AH! I HATE MY JOB! I DON'T WANT TO GET UP!!!
Is that what you say to yourself every Monday morning?
I sure don't, and let me share how I ensure my work week starts with good amount of positivity. This is based on my experience and how it helped me. We don't need to do a lot, but a pinch of few changes and easy habits does the trick. Trust me, I continue to do this since years, and it does wonders by making my week very productive and most importantly, making me happy!
Read on...
Number 1. Wake up 10 mins earlier than usual. Sounds hard already? Well, I said "wake up" not "get up". :-) Feel free to be in your bed with your eyes open. Just think of one or two things that you want to achieve by the evening or by Friday, and whose help you may need to get those things done. Thinking about people, from who you may need something, prepares you for feeling of gratitude.
Number 2. Eat a good delicious healthy breakfast. Food is a proven way to fend those Monday blues. Ever seen a man who is still sad after being full? If you are dieting, you have the whole week to watch out for those carbs. Let your Monday morning breakfast win the week for you.
Number 3. Feed someone. I am not saying that you make 'breakfast in bed' for your partner. A simple act of watering the plants or feeding your pet would do. It adds a sense of pride and accomplishment to your mind.
Number 4. First thing on a Monday should never be a group meeting. The first working hour of the week is the most important one, dedicate it for yourself. Spend it reading emails, catching up on notes from previous week(s) or even planning the tasks or meetings.
Number 5. Remember, Monday blues are highly contagious, so keep that whining co-worker away for the first few hours. It is added fun and an opportunity to keep yourself positive. :-)
Try some of these tips or please let me know if you think these helps. Have an awesome Monday and a great week!
Thank you
