The Mom's Words That Changed My Perspective on Business

The Mom's Words That Changed My Perspective on Business

The other day, I took my toddler son to our local children’s museum.

As soon as we entered, his eyes lit up at the sight of the colorful toddler area, filled with toys, mats, and other children laughing and playing.

There was a little girl, maybe 4 years old, dressed in pink from head to toe, running around the toddler area as well.

She was jumping over the mats, stuffies, when she almost bumped into my son who was focused on a puzzle.

“Be careful with that little boy!” the mom yelled at her daughter.

I looked at the mom, smiled and nodded, in appreciation for her mindfulness. For taking a moment to look out for my son’s well-being.

Yet, her words still linger in my mind… “that little boy.”

To that mom, My Son, my whole heart, my sun, my moon, my inspiration and motivation is simply a little boy.

Have you ever had a moment that made you rethink how you view people?

I now look around the world thinking… that’s someone’s little boy or little girl.

It also made me realize, it’s easy for us as entrepreneurs to see our clients as "just customers" or metrics on a social media platform, rather than as individuals with their own hopes, dreams, and fears.

We need to remember, as much as we can, that our clients and customers are someone’s whole heart, sun, moon, inspiration and motivation.

These human beings have goals, dreams, and aspirations, oftentimes similar to our own.

We need not trick people into liking us, following us, we need to simply fall in love with helping them achieve the very thing they’re most desiring.

Let’s fall in love with helping others achieve their desires, just as we would for our own loved ones.
