Alba's commitment to reducing the brand's environmental impact led to initiatives such as using eco-friendly packaging and promoting responsible sourcing of ingredients. Now, two more remarkable examples of mothers leading the charge in sustainability!

Firstly a group of incredible mothers in Africa formed the?The Green Belt Movement? led by Nobel laureate Wangari Maathai. This movement, through tree planting and environmental conservation, empowers local communities to address ecological challenges while fostering economic growth.

And last but by no means least, the incredible Emily Penn, a mother and ocean advocate who founded?eXXpedition , a series of all-female sailing expeditions that explore plastic pollution in our oceans. Through her leadership, Penn has united diverse women with a shared mission to raise awareness about the plastic crisis.

The women aforementioned exemplify how motherhood has cultivated in them a deep sense of responsibility for the planet's well-being, propelling them to take impactful actions that resonate globally.

There are so many inspiring stories because mothers are inspiring. And many mothers, without starting a business, running a company or managing an office, think and act sustainably, every single day. And oftentimes without even making the effort consciously, because it is ingrained in a mother to think about what is best for her children; which clothes should I buy for my children, eco-cotton or recycled plastics - both are good options? How can I ensure my children are eating well? Should I choose between wooden toys or plastic toys? Should I look into alternative education options, or choose the local comprehensive? Just to name a few!

You really inspired me with your outlook and examples. The impact mothers have and the bold decisions they are making everyday create a ripple effect that helps to make this world a better place!

For instance, (because we just can't resist another incredible example!) mothers like Tessa Clarke, co-founder of?Olio ? Share More, Waste Less, a food-sharing app, successfully harnessed her leadership acumen to create innovative solutions that combat food waste and promote community connections.

It is evident from the examples above, alone, that by inviting mothers into leadership roles, companies can leverage their ability to bring diverse perspectives to the table and champion holistic approaches to sustainability challenges.
