Our relationship with life needs to transform.
Life continues but the relationship, understanding and the meaning of our actions is what changes as we build momentum toward transformation.
There is an old Zen saying…
Before enlightenment, chop wood and carry water.
After enlightenment, chop wood and carry water.
We must be willing to work toward ending the ego’s fear based opposition to our authentic self and others. Then, and only then, will we have peace. Peace is the experience of enlightenment. We are feeling the connection between our authentic selves and others.
As we learn to relax into our authentic self we become less reactive and we experience heightened levels of synchronicity. These are two signs we are awakening. The more we allow our egoic fear to control us the more reactive we become and the less synchronicity occurs.
The journey to enlightenment is not easy. It is a transformational building of momentum that happens over time. That is why the continual daily practice of habits that lower our walls is so important.
