It is worth noting that these are just the top categories of components inspected and the actual types of products tested are likely more diverse.

In comparison, in 2021, we mainly tested transceivers, MCUs, and MOSFETs, while MOSFETs accounted for only 10.8% of the top three components tested. However, the demand for MOSFET testing increased significantly over the course of the year, reflecting the growing demand for the product in the market.

Mosfet - The Growth of Its Market Demand?

In 2022, Mosfets accounted for 23.7% of the components tested at White Horse Laboratories, a significant increase from 10.8% in 2021. This growth can be attributed to the increasing demand for Mosfets in various industries, including motor control, rail transportation, wireless power supply, energy control, and smart grid.

MCU Microcontrollers - An Important Application in Consumer Electronics

Consumer electronics, computers and networks, automotive electronics, and the Internet of Things (IoT) are the most important application areas for MCUs. In 2022, MCUs accounted for 10.9% of the components tested at White Horse Laboratories.

FPGAs - A High-Programmable Flexibility Solution

FPGAs, or Field-Programmable Logic Gate Arrays, are semi-custom circuits with customizable functions. They are mainly used in the communications industry and are expected to be used more frequently in new fields such as artificial intelligence. In 2022, FPGAs accounted for 9.9% of the components tested at White Horse Laboratories.?

Regulators - The Most Common Power Supply Solution for Automotive Applications

Regulators, also known as voltage regulator chips, regulate the voltage step-up and step-down. They are commonly used as a power supply solution for automotive applications and accounted for 10% of the components tested at White Horse Laboratories in 2022.

Texas Instruments (TI) continues to dominate the industry as a global leader in various products such as digital signal processors, digital-to-analog converters, analog-to-digital converters, energy management, and analog integrated circuits. Based in Dallas, Texas, TI is a true powerhouse and has held its unassailable position for many years.

The company is renowned for its association with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Jack Kilby, one of the inventors of the integrated circuit, and TSMC founder Chang Chung-Soo, both of whom worked for Texas Instruments. In the previous year's chart, Texas Instruments maintained its leadership position, while ON Semiconductor rose to become the second-ranked device brand at White Horse Laboratories.

ON Semiconductor was originally the semiconductor division of Motorola and was listed independently in 1999, renamed to ON Semiconductor. In recent years, with the rapid growth in the new energy vehicle market, ON Semiconductor has been expanding its market share in related fields, including automotive MOSFET power semiconductors, IGBT modules, and other automotive systems, and CMOS image sensors.?
