Momentum Building at Rossington Main: A Week of Progress and Exciting Developments.
Rossington Main FC
Doncaster’s highest ranked Non-League Football Club in the Northern Counties East League Premier at Non-League step 5.
It’s been another hectic but exciting week at Rossington Main, both on and off the pitch. Before diving into the big news behind the scenes, let’s recap the weekend’s action.
The weekend kicked off with our U18 girls at home in the County Cup quarter-finals. Unfortunately, despite a strong effort, they suffered a 1-3 defeat against a strong league above team Wickesley FC. A tough result, but plenty to build on for the young girls moving forward.
The main event on Saturday saw the men’s first team travel to Handsworth FC for what turned out to be a tight, hard-fought battle that ended in a 0-0 stalemate. While it wasn’t the win we wanted, I was pleased with the players’ reaction after last week’s disappointing performance at Pickering. A much-improved display, and we take the point and move forward.
Our Development squad after a torrid season so far, finally delivered a brilliant 4-0 victory at home in the Doncaster derby against Yorkshire Main, and I could not be prouder of this young team and I have to say this result has been coming in recent weeks. While we the club and I have faced criticism all season on this team, this result has been coming—and I’ve always said, trust the process we are building a new generation of players and there was no quick fix.
We will now, look to push forward, aiming to secure enough points to avoid relegation and build momentum heading into next season. I must also give a huge shout out to manager Gabe Mozzini, who has remained committed to the task and I have always backed him because I know he is a top coach, and this result is a testament to his hard work and I appreciate him sticking to the job in hand and never getting deflated or giving up and at times it been tough very tough.
Sundays main event then saw our ladies’ first team put in an impressive performance, comfortably demolishing Brinsworth Whitehill Girls FC 11-0 at home in the League Cup and it was great to see the Doncaster Belles U12s Mascots in attendance. However, on the other side of things, we had to call off our ladies' development game due to a growing injury crisis and player unavailability that left us short on players. Hopefully, we can get everyone back fit and on the same page soon.
Away from the action, it’s been a monumental week for the club. After months of hard work, I am delighted to confirm that we have finally secured a new three-year principal club sponsor, commencing from the 2025/26 season. This is one of the most significant sponsorship deals in the club’s history, reflecting the shared ambition of both parties.
Our key focus was to find a partner that not only benefits the club but also gives back to the community and our loyal supporters, and I’m thrilled to say we’ve achieved exactly that. I will officially announce the new partner in the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye out.

As part of this exciting deal, our new principal partner will have their branding on the front of our home and away shirts, and fans can look forward to lots of joint initiatives next season.
With our main sponsorship now secured, we are now actively looking for a sleeve sponsor to complement the deal. If anyone is interested or knows a business that might be, please DM me or contact me at [email protected].
It has been a busy week behind the scenes, catching up with all our club officials and several members of the management team. We’ve also secured a loan deal for one of our players and made a couple of signings for our development squad, which will strengthen the team going forward. Friday night saw us host another fantastic Club Doncaster Darts evening, which was well attended. In addition, we’ve launched an exciting new club lottery, which will kick off in March. This gives our supporters the chance to win up to £25,000, and we’re incredibly excited about this new partnership.
Looking ahead, we have a huge game on Tuesday night at home against Hallam FC, followed by another home fixture on Saturday against Campion.
On Sunday, our ladies' first team are also at home, so I’ll be aiming to attend matches across all teams. To round off the week, we’ll be hosting the final Club Doncaster Darts evening on Friday night.
Plenty happening, plenty to look forward to. As always, thank you to everyone who supports the club week in, week out—your backing makes all the difference.
