Moments in Time

Working in health care is a special privilege, and not just because of the amazing ways you can help patients who need you.

 It’s also special because of the camaraderie that builds when you work with teammates you respect for their abilities and dedication.

 We know everyone in the Northside Family has a story to share, and we’ve been collecting as many of their best recollections for our “Memorable Moments 2017” series. It features quotes, photos and videos that document the TRUE story of what it’s like to be part of the Northside Hospital team.

 Why do Northsiders love it here? Shelley, of our Blood & Marrow Transplant Program, says simply: “I have never worked at a place that’s had your back like BMT and Northside.”

 For her BMT teammate Hari Ghorat, a seven-year veteran, it’s the collection of special times shared with co-workers, including “surprise birthday parties, international food days and breakfast at night.”

 Traveling nurse Melissa Monterio, who got a severe case of food poisoning shortly after she started at Northside, said the caring spirit of a colleague made a world of difference to her. “Paula Duley called me regularly and checked in, which was pretty amazing since I was here by myself.”

 True teamwork means sharing the burdens and the joys that come from the intense and vital work we do every day at Northside Hospital. The collection of memories that highlight that kind of teamwork here show why Northside Hosptial is such a special place to work.
