A Moment to Reflect: Our time at the University of Greenwich and the UK
ViewPoints - MA Marketing Suite, UoG
Perspectives of our student and alumni community on issues that matter and interest them.
As we find ourselves on the brink of our third and final term in our programs, it's a natural moment for reflection. Time has woven itself into a tapestry of experiences since we arrived in the UK, each thread representing moments of growth, connection, and discovery. As some of our team pause to contemplate the journey thus far, we're prompted to revisit the chapters of our academic pursuits and personal adventures, finding comfort and inspiration in the memories we've woven together.
MA in Strategic Advertising and Marketing Communications
As final grades are coming in and my parents are visiting me from the States, I am naturally reflecting on my time in Greenwich so far. Though courses have been challenging and varied - from creative content to research methods - I have been able to identify my love for data and analysis and my apathy for other areas. I look forward to further challenging myself as I use the knowledge, I have gained to assist a company in reaching its business goals.?
On a personal note, I am enjoying showing my parents my favourite parts of London, like Greenwich Market, and exploring new areas like the historic Tower of London. Overall, I look forward to uncovering new treasures across the city while embracing the academic journey ahead.

MA Strategic Marketing
Studying for my MA in Strategic Marketing has been both challenging and rewarding. It has helped me with my future career aspirations, especially by helping me pass strategic marketing management and data analytics courses. I've pushed myself to show the best of myself through assessments and projects, achieving excellent results.?
Outside my studies, I've contributed to extracurricular activities like the business challenge during the university's international week, which helped me to participate in hands-on, real-world projects and use the knowledge I gained from the academics in practice. Also, being part of Viewpoints has been a great experience, allowing me to collaborate with passionate fellow marketing students, share knowledge, and stay updated on the latest marketing trends through our blogs and discussions.?
I'm eager to start my dissertation on consumer behaviour next term and continue with the viewpoints project with my colleagues!

MA in Strategic Advertising and Marketing Communications
As we prepare for the final stretch of the MA Strategic Advertising and Marketing Communications course, I am amazed and a tad bit sentimental about how quickly time has flown. From settling into a new country, getting to know the way around the city, and bracing the winter to dashing from one class to the other, making presentations, writing assignments, and making new friends, the last eight months have been a true rollercoaster!
Reflecting on the University experience, the MA Strategic Advertising and Marketing Communications course has broadened my knowledge on crafting advertising campaigns, working on live briefs on digital marketing, crafting compelling public relations and corporate communication plans, curating content to achieve specific communication goals as well as learning a thing or two about the fascinating world of data analytics. The learning experience has been empowering and deeply gratifying. A massive gratitude to the lecturers, who have walked with us through the journey.
As I embark on the dissertation, which will evidently be a lonely trail, I look back at fond memories shared with students from different cultures and making solid friendships within and around the iconic architectural wonder, the mesmeric University of Greenwich.
MA in Strategic Advertising and Marketing Communications
Stepping back into classes after so many years away was a mix of nerves and excitement that I can only describe as reuniting with an old friend after a long time away. The Strategic Advertising and Marketing Communications program has challenged me in ways I hadn't anticipated, but it also reignited confidence in my abilities.
?Collaborating with fellow students on the Viewpoints blog team has been a source of friendship and inspiration. Their support and diverse perspectives reminded me of the power of teamwork and the beauty of shared goals.
And then there's my mentor, Susan – a guiding light in this journey of rediscovery. Her encouragement and insight helped me recognize my interest in data analytics and has provided invaluable guidance in navigating the next steps of pursuing this newfound passion.
On a personal level, moving to a new country was a leap of faith into the unknown that filled me with both fear and hope. Starting new carries, a vulnerability, which is eased by the warmth of unexpected friendships and the shared experiences that bind us together. As I eagerly await the arrival of friends and family in the coming months, I'm filled with anticipation and enthusiasm to share the beauty and richness of this new place I've come to call home over the past months.
As I look forward to completing my master’s program, I do so with a heart full of gratitude for the journey thus far and anticipation for the adventures that lie ahead. Here's to embracing the challenges, cherishing the connections, and savouring every moment. Cheers to the next chapter!
