A Moment with Donna…. I Wonder ???
Seasons evolve with an astonishing consistency; cycles we actually depend upon. However, when those cycles shift, we often become perplexed. Yet we adapt somehow, wondering why there is this or that shift, that of course, we think should not be happening. We forget that Mother Nature has a mind of her own, and when Mother Earth gets together with Mother Nature…well, we usually are in for some surprises.
Dynamics of life are ever shifting and changing. Some seasons are more dramatic, forceful, even painful. Adaptation is mandatory if we are to make it through. There are always those who cannot, or will not make the adjustments as necessary for survival. This includes all species of life…plants, animals, insects, microbes, etc. Yes, even we humans.
I think of the saying, “Nature is about survival of the fittest!” I would change that to those who are adaptable.
We live in an amazing time of massive change on multiple levels and it is occurring with unexpected speed and intensity. It is most obvious with technology. However, all too few people are aware that it took almost a hundred years plus to reach this stage. The truth is, the basis of our current technologies that we take for granted today, started their evolution thousands of years ago. The main stream of consciousness just was not there, the timing was not right due to the belief systems in place. Asking questions, being curious, going against the currents of the powers that were present, created fear on a huge level.
Ignorance, fear, superstition…How do we keep these three most powerful enemies at bay? By asking questions, daring to break through belief systems that imprison our capacities to challenge, to explore different options, to recognize there are multiple ways to approach solutions to the challenges that face us. When we work together, listening to various ideas/choices/perceptions we can amaze ourselves with the results.

Does that mean we ignore the knowledge, experience, wisdoms of the past? No. We observe, think, listen, question, and if necessary, speak up and out against what no longer serves us, then we adapt to necessary changes. The old saying, “Don’t throw out the baby with the bathwater”, truly applies.
Every generation of human beings have had to deal with adaptations. Too often we smugly look at past history recognizing how our three greatest enemies ruled the day. We fail to recognize those who dared to break through those existing paradigms, often suffering greatly. Many dying to prove their reasoning. It took a long time for the masses to catch up as most people were not literate, or informed. They did not know they could step outside their limitations. However, once they had the awareness, then they could create opportunity for change. Think of the invention of the printing press for example…if you could read you became informed. The ability to read brought a world of connection and communication previously unknown. Massive change evolved creating the Renaissance period.
Today that communication capacity far outweighs the world of the past, yet we still need to question, explore, reach towards the unknown, which I feel is so exciting and invigorating. It is my feeling we should embrace the idea, the concept of being a lifetime student.
What would you like to explore? What vistas of knowledge would you like to add to your resume of life experiences?
I wonder??? Do you???
Love, Donna Seebo
