Mom, You Have Pull With Heaven!
"When the wine ran out, the mother (of Jesus) said to him, 'They have no wine'. Jesus said to her...'My hour has not yet come'. - John 2:3-4
What importance a woman makes in the hour of spiritual dryness! Women care about the presence of wine, the presence of the Holy Spirit. “New wine” depicts the new thing the Lord is doing among His people. New wine needs new wine skins. But it’s also true that new wine skins are useless without new wine. It makes no sense to put new wine in old wineskins. Likewise, new wineskins are of little use filled with old wine. At some time and place, the wine will run low and the need for refilling will come.
John reveals that the replenishing of wine at the wedding began with a mother—namely, Mary, the mother of Jesus.
Spiritual women notice dry seasons much quicker than men do. Most times, women perceive spiritual reality more readily than men. It should not surprise us then to find a mother, not Jesus’ disciples, who appealed to the Lord when the wine had run out. Is it possible that she alone slowed down enough to recognize it? A mother called attention to the need of wine, and throughout the ages, this has usually been the case.
The 1904 revival in Wales certainly, as all revivals do, was rooted in the persistent prayers and prayer meetings of Evan Roberts. However, the flint that hit the rock, creating a spark that lit the fire was the testimony of a young lady named Florrie Evans. Though she had only been a believer a few days, she rose in a prayer meeting and with a trembling voice simply said "I love Jesus with all my heart." The other young people's hearts were melted by her humble testimony and love toward Christ. From that moment, a powerful spiritual awakening ignited and a revival that brought 100,000 people to Christ was under way.
Undoubtedly, men have the role of leadership to play in Kingdom matters. But it’s the women, indeed, spiritual mothers, who usually discern the deeper need and the absence of Holy Spirit fullness. It was Mary, the sister of Martha, who loved sitting at Jesus' feet, and He said of her, "Mary has chosen what is better."
God has placed within the heart of women a thirst for the wine of God. Many times spiritual mothers see the need before anyone else. Usually it’s a woman, most times a mother, who dares go before the Son to plead, “They have no wine.”
And even though the Father may have predetermined that the "hour has not yet come," the mother’s intercession had such pull with heaven that eternity’s timetable had to shift at her request. Her recognition of the need and persistence to make it known superseded the divine fixed order. New marching orders were sent from the throne to the Son, a rescheduling of heaven's mandate was inserted, and all of this because a mother interceded.
Jesus turns and commands, “Fill the jars!” Mary walks away satisfied, and every mother needs to understand the authority you carry as you stand before God on behalf of a spiritually dry world. You, mom, have pull with heaven!

7 年I pray more women read this.... for they need strength and encouragement to accept their place next to or in front of us arrogant men! Women are blessed with a better understanding of others and a more compassionate heart and the true spirit of unconditional love.... yet we have succeeded in beating them down and holding them back... shame upon us! As a man, even I was inspired by this writing!
