Mojo takes the lead in sperm analysis for the GBTQ community, adding SURROGACYUK as new partner

London, UK - A pressing issue for the GBTQ community in the UK is their difficulty in obtaining a sperm analysis. Despite the increasing demand for fertility services, male same-sex couples are often denied referrals for sperm analysis on the National Health Service (NHS) due to a lack of medical need. Private clinics, meanwhile, are reluctant to perform the analysis unless the whole IVF cycle is carried out - which often happens abroad due to legal considerations regarding surrogacy.?

In response to this issue, Mojo, the only provider of lab-based, at-home sperm analysis in the UK, has launched an initiative toward surrogacy services and recently announced its partnership with My Surrogacy Journey. With SURROGACYUK , another major surrogacy service now chooses Mojo to offer convenient and affordable sperm testing to the GBTQ community. Sarah Taylor Jones , Head of Surrogacy, says:

"Around 45% of our members are LGBTQIA+ and many have struggled to access sperm testing through their GP.?Sometimes the only clinics willing to undertake sperm testing for our members are miles away from their homes and can constitute an entire day just to have their sperm testing done privately.?Mojo's at-home service is key for our members who are spread out throughout the UK."

Mojo's innovative technology and comprehensive support make it easy for people with sperm to carry out fertility analysis from the privacy and comfort of their own homes. With fast and reliable results, individuals can have a clear understanding of their sperm health and make informed decisions about the next steps in their reproductive journey. Tobias Boecker , co-founder of Mojo, adds:

“Traditionally, public healthcare systems are slow to adapt to new trends like the one we’re seeing with the growing LGBTQ+ community and their needs for fertility care. The fact that the team at Surrogacy UK decided to work with us is an honor and a testament to our commitment to supporting everyone on their journey toward parenthood, no matter their sexual orientation."

Data on sexual orientation from the Office for National Statistics show an estimated 3.1% of the UK population (aged 16+) identified as lesbian, gay or bisexual (LGB) in 2020. This is an increase from 2.7% in 2019 and almost double the percentage from 2014 (1.6%).
