Mojo of Possibility Thinking
Please take 2 minutes to read, what possibility thinker do at the times of crisis
I’ll quote a story of Wisconsin. One of the states of The USA, which was built around the paper industries, more than half of the employment, was generated by those industries. But with the coming up of modern times, the industries started getting non-profitable. One of the industry owners, George who owned several industries in the state, heard Robert H. Schuller on the TV, one morning. Mr. Schuller said –“Nobody has a money problem, the problem is always of the idea”, additionally encouraged people to be a possibility thinker. That day George, called one of his top executives and asked him “what will it take to manufacture paper at profit?”
Some days later, the associate handed him a piece of paper. The news was devastating. The plan requires new machinery, that had the capacity to manufacture 223 inches wide coated paper. But it will cost them $ 50 million to install that machinery. And if the marketing conditions were right and financing were reasonable, it will definitely turn out to be a profitable deal.
George went to several government officials and manufacturers, to ask for the financing in machine building components. They agreed to contribute in addition to that, he also went to the big magazine houses and asked them “would you like to be guaranteed with the delivery of all the paper, you need to print the magazines and not be caught short”, then give us the advance, we will always cater you with the best quality paper. The magazine house agreed to pay George with the advance. He was able to put the impossible deal together, and save Wisconsin the paper state, he was also able to generate 600 new jobs.
This is the power possessed by the possibility thinkers, who always try to get the solution out, no matter how difficult the situation is. Even the darkest cloud has a silver lining. It’s just that we need to figure out that silver lining.
